When we look around the world, there are a million problems plaguing our humanity. Problems like granting women equal educational opportunities. So what can we do to combat these issues? Luckily, with today’s advanced technology, there are resources all over the internet for those who are willing to help.
Educate
One of the first actions anyone can execute anywhere is to educate themselves and others. Although a small first step, a lot of people are unaware that this is an ongoing issue. Take 30 minutes out of your day to go on google and search up the current problems of women’s education around the world, afterward, make a presentation or a meeting to share it with friends. If this sounds too formal, make it one of the subjects of talk with your friends. Test each other on what you know and don’t, because even one person can make a difference. After learning the core problems and severity, push yourself to help further by donating or simply volunteering in programs.
Donation
One form of donation is through an organisation called World Education, the program aims to help girls gain access and stay in school, while also battling other social problems such as finance, healthcare and etc...The website offers other options such as creating a fundraiser or simply giving your contact information. In addition, Educating Girls Matter is a website that has accumulated multiple organisations and programs across the globe to donate to. Actions as simple as these are very helpful to the issue.
Volunteering
Of course, not everyone can donate, some people would rather do in-person help or some other form of help instead of spending money. Go Overseas is a website that provides different volunteering options around the world. These volunteering options are definitely worth the experience as you get to travel abroad and not only help but learn about the cultures of underdeveloped nations. The website is fantastic as it also offers other services beyond women’s education such as women’s rights. Unfortunately, most of these programs don’t have community funding, so the travel funding will most likely be out from your pockets.
Sign Petition
In addition, there are generally a lot of sites that take petitions as a way of contributing. Volunteering and donating are among the many ways of being an alliance. The first and foremost step to anything is to educate yourselves on the issue. As long as you are able to identify the “what, where, and how” to the issue, you are well on your way to becoming a solution to the problem of Women’s education.
